Diary 9 January - 7 October 1865.

Union Brevet Colonel W.H. Siddel, Chief Mustering and Disbursing Officer in Kentucky during the Civil War, while stationed in Louisville sparsely and briefly recorded his official dispensations in this manufactured diary booklet. He mentions Captain Charles A. Zachary of the 2nd Kentucky Cavalry. Siddel was involved in a query into Zachary's claim of pay for off-muster duty. (Additional material concerning Zachary has been placed with the diary.) Siddel also recorded his personal expenditures in Cash Account columns, provided by the printers in the back of the booklet. Printed in the front of the diary booklet is a calendar for 1865, census statistics for 1860, a timeline of Civil War events up to March 1864, as well as Almanac predictions for 1865.
